When seeing Perplexity AI, your first impression may be that it’s simply a better ChatGPT. When asking questions, it includes sources of real websites that you can easily view, and has an “Ask a follow-up” button for getting more in depth information on a query. Slightly further investigation will show that it is a purely factual based AI, and doesn’t have the ability to create non-fictional work. For e.g., “write me a fictional story”, gave the reply, “Writing a fictional story requires creativity and imagination…”. This seems annoying, but its use case is obviously not targeted at writing at heartfelt narrative.
